Ignacio Garrido, who won the Volvo PGA Championship in dramatic fashion at Wentworth Club last month, is the latest player to confirm his participation in The Diageo Championship at Gleneagles on the PGA Centenary Course from June 19-22.

The 31 year old Spaniard, who claimed the flagship title on The European Tour International Schedule following a play-off with South Africa’’s Trevor Immelman, has a fondness for the Scottish course having finished sixth in the tournament last year, and will be keen to add the prestigious title to his already impressive golfing CV

Garrido, who played in the victorious 1997 Ryder Cup Team at Valderrama will be joined by many of last year’’s winning Ryder Cup side in the heart of Scotland including Irishman Paul McGinley, who had the honour of holing the winning putt.
