Oscar Floren converted one eagle and four birdies during a bogey free round of 66, to lead by one. It is a great start to a much needed big week for the 29 year old Swedish golfer, who currently ranks 169th on the Race to Dubai. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, Oscar excelled off the tee hitting 11/14 fairways, plus when missing the greens he scrambled for Par every time (5/5).

Shane LOWRY -5
Home favourite Shane Lowry did not disappoint, converting six birdies against one bogey on his way to a first round 67. Four of those birdies came at the Par 5 holes, resulting in a superb 4.00 average for Par 5 Scoring. Unfortunately some of his Genworth Statistics were not available in time for this report, but the 26 year old Irish golfer would surely love to win his third European Tour title this week at Carton House, his home course.

Michael HOEY -5
Michael Hoey converted six birdies against a single bogey on his way to a first round 67. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 24 year old golfer from Northern Ireland only hit 50% of the fairways but he produced some accurate approach play and his touch on and around the greens was excellent. Michael has made only one cut from his last seven events, but he is a proven four-time European Tour winner and could win an event at any point.

Joost LUITEN -5
Joost Luiten continued his great run of form with a first round 67, which included seven birdies (the most of all the players alongside Peter Uihlein). Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 27 year old golfer from the Netherlands drove the ball straight off the tee and hit lots of Greens in Regulation, which seem to be the keys to his consistent play week in week out at the moment.
