Genworth Stats Pack - Round 1 Review

John Parry fired in eight birdies on his way to a bogey free first round 64. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 26 year old Englishman was solid from tee to green, hitting 10/14 fairways and 15/18 Greens in Regulation, plus he took just 27 putts. Currently ranked 110th on the Race to Dubai, a big week would go a long way to securing John’s full playing rights for next season.

Simon Khan converted five birdies and an eagle (on his final hole) for a first round 65. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 41 year old Englishman looked superb from tee to green, hitting 13/14 fairways and all 18 Greens in Regulation. Currently ranked 28th on the Race to Dubai (helped by his runner-up finish at Wentworth in May), Simon seems to be relaxed and confident.

Shane Lowry converted seven birdies against one bogey on his way to a first round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 26 year old Irish talent hit 12/14 fairways and 15/18 Greens in Regulation, plus he birdied every Par 5 hole for a 4.00 average. Currently ranked 46th on the Race to Dubai, Shane is enjoying some consistent form of late and he could well be right up there come Sunday.

Mikko Ilonen converted seven birdies against a single bogey on his way to a first round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 33 year old golfer from Finland managed to hit 12/14 fairways whilst averaging 314 yards for Driving Distance, which then enabled him to accumulate 17/18 Greens in Regulation. The three time European Tour winner is currently ranked 8th on the Race to Dubai and is enjoying a fantastic season of golf so far.

A colourful card of 66 for Phil Mickelson included one eagle, six birdies and two bogeys. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 43 year old golfer from the United States averaged 311 yards for Driving Distance alongside 10/14 fairways, and 15/18 Greens in Regulation. Having played in this event 10 times before the current world number 8 will be keen to put this one on his illustrious list of victories.

James Morrison fired in six birdies on his way to a bogey free first round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 28 year old Englishman hit 8/14 fairways and 12/18 Greens in Regulation, plus he Scrambled for Par 6/6 times and took just 25 putts. Currently ranked 132nd on the Race to Dubai, James is playing with more consistency of late, so it is not surprising to see him start well here.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat converted eight birdies against two bogeys on his way to a first round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 23 year old golfer from Thailand hit 9/14 fairways and 14/18 Greens in Regulation, plus he averaged an incredible 3.30 for Par 4 Scoring. Currently ranked 23rd on the Race to Dubai, look out for this rising star as the week progresses.

Thongchai Jaidee converted one eagle and five birdies against a single bogey on his way to a first round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 43 year old golfer from Thailand hit 7/14 fairways and 14/18 Greens in Regulation, plus he took just 27 putts. The five time European Tour winner is enjoying a lucrative year so far with a current Race to Dubai ranking of 11th.

Chris Doak converted one eagle and five birdies against a single bogey on his way to a first round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 35 year old Scottish golfer hit 7/14 fairways and 15/18 Greens in Regulation, plus he hit two of the Par 5 greens in sub-regulation (two shots) for a Par 5 Scoring average of 4.00. Currently ranked 136th on the Race to Dubai, a big week in front of the home crowd would help Chris move up the rankings.
