Robert-Jan Derksen converted eight birdies during his round of 66 (more than any other player in the field). The 39 year old golfer from the Netherlands has performed steadily so far this year only missing one cut, but he is yet to put in that big performance (his best finish so far is 30th in Dubai). Kiradech APHIBARNRAT -4
Kiradech Aphibarnrat has started strongly once again this week. The 23 year old rising star from Thailand (who currently ranks 1st on the 2013 Genworth Stroke Average Rankings) hit 10/14 fairways, 13/18 Greens in Regulation and he took just 27 putts over the first 18 holes. It will be interesting to see how he performs over the rest of the week. Another big finish will get lots of people talking about him.

Raphaël JACQUELIN -4
Raphaël Jacquelin navigated his way around the Binhai Lake course without dropping any shots today. Following his marathon play-off win in Spain two weeks ago, not surprisingly the 38 year old Frenchman missed the cut last week in Korea. But that may have given him some much needed recovery time in order to prepare for this week as his form looks to have picked up again.

Fresh off a win last week in Korea, the 35 year old Australian golfer is still playing great hitting 11/14 fairways, 13/18 Greens in Regulation and just 26 putts over the first round.
