Genworth Stats Pack - Round 2 Review

Luke Guthrie converted five birdies against four bogeys in the blustery conditions on his way to a second round 71, to lead the field by four shots at the half way stage. Unfortunately not all of his Genworth Statistics data is available at the time of this report, but we can see that the 23 year old golfer from the United States is producing some fantastic scoring across the different hole types (Par 3’s / Par 4’s / Par 5’s), and he moves into the weekend having accumulated one eagle and ten birdies over the first 36 holes.

Ricardo Gonzalez converted six birdies against a single bogey on his way to a second round 67 (the low round of the day). Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the long hitting golfer from Argentina (who turned 44 on Thursday of this week) seems very strong in each department of the game, ranking 12th for Greens in Regulation, 2nd for Scrambles and 9th for Putts per Round. This all round quality has enabled him to drop the fewest shots out of all the players (just one bogey and one double bogey).

Scott Jamieson converted five birdies against a single bogey on his way to a second round 68. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 29 year old Scotsman is producing pretty much the best combination of long game figures of all the players, ranking 1st for Driving Accuracy, 5th for Greens in Regulation and 7th for Putts per GIR (the combination of these suggests very accurate approach play). With no apparent weaknesses on show, Scott may take his consistency from the last few events and push on to contend for his second title of the 2013 European Tour season.
