Liam Bond converted five birdies against two bogeys on his way to a second round 68, to lead by one at the half way stage. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 43 year old Welsh golfer is accumulating plenty of birdies and making comparatively few mistakes over the tough Celtic Manor Ryder Cup course, plus he leads the Par 4 Scoring with a 3.72 average. Liam may be a bit of a surprise leader but he will take plenty of home support with him over the weekend.

Espen KOFSTAD -4
After a brilliant first round 64, Espen Kofstad found the going a little tougher today, converting three birdies against six bogeys for a second round 74. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 26 year old golfer from Norway is excelling with the longer clubs, ranking 8th for Driving Accuracy and 2nd for Greens in Regulation (plus 1st for Par 5’s in 2), but he only managed to single putt twice today. Overall, Espen remains in a great position going into the weekend, where the pressure will start to mount.

Tjaart Van Der Walt converted three birdies against three bogeys on his way to a second round level par 71. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 38 year old South African is looking very strong across the board, ranking 20th for Driving Accuracy, 11th for Greens in Regulation, 1st for Scrambles and 18th for Putts per Round. Currently ranking 118th on the Race to Dubai, a solid weekend will go a long way to securing Tjaart’s full playing rights for next season.
