Genworth Stats Pack - Round 2 Review

Mikko Ilonen forged to the top of the leaderboard with a second round 63 consisting of nine birdies and nine pars. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 33 year old golfer from Finland has not driven the ball as accurately as some of the other players but every other department of his game is strong. Mikko ranks 2nd for Scrambles (9/10 up and downs) and 1st for 1 Putts per Round (21 single putts), which has enabled him to both convert the most birdies and also drop the fewest shots so far. The result is a three shot lead at the half way stage.

Brett Rumford finished with four birdies for a round of 67 and tied second place going into the weekend. He must be starting to think that back to back victories are on the cards. The 35 year old Australian golfer is performing steadily from tee to green and he is putting exceptionally well, ranking 1st for the Genworth Putts per Round statistic (50 putts in total).

Kiradech Aphibarnrat converted six birdies against one bogey for a second round of 67. The 23 year old rising star from Thailand is driving the ball miles (ranking 3rd for the Genworth Driving Distance statistic) and he is hitting in excess of 80% Greens in Regulation. Kiradech also ranks 1st for Par 4 Scoring but he seems to have struggled a little over the Par 3 holes so far.

Robert-Jan Derksen shot a second round 70 to stay within touching distance of the lead going into the weekend. The 39 year old golfer from the Netherlands is performing well in each of the Genworth Statistics categories, only giving up a little length to the longest hitters. He ranks 29th for Driving Accuracy, 21st for Greens in Regulation and 13th for Putts per Round, and he is also making lots of birdies and scoring especially well on the Par 3 holes.
