Genworth Stats Pack - Round 2 Review

Round 2 of the M2M Russian Open produced 36 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 73.71. Rikard Karlberg leads on -9 with Baldwin, Hoey, Kaleka and Liang following close behind. We analyse their performances and round up the Genworth Statistics leaders.

Rikard KARLBERG -9

Rikard Karlberg converted six birdies against two bogeys on his way to a second round 68, to lead by two at the half way stage. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 26 year old Swedish golfer is performing steadily with the longer clubs, but his short game and putting is looking very strong, including ranking 1st for Putts per Round. Rikard is playing under a category 12 exemption this year (currently ranking 122nd on the Race to Dubai) so coming out on top on Sunday would do wonders for his career.

Michael Hoey converted eight birdies against three bogeys on his way to a second round 67. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 34 year old golfer from Northern Ireland is hitting 72.2% of the Greens in Regulation, but just look at how he is performing on the greens. He ranks 1st for each of the putting categories which is enabling him to convert more birdies than any other player. The four time European Tour winner may not be having the best year so far (currently ranking 142nd on the Race to Dubai) but he is the type of player that can win at any point (often when least expected).
