Dustin Johnson jumped out into a five shot lead at the half way stage of the WGC - HSBC Champions with an incredible second round 63, which included ten birdies and one bogey (it was the round of the day by some margin, four shots better than next best 67). Unfortunately not all of his Genworth Statistics data was available at the time of this report, but we can clearly see that the huge hitting 38 year old talent from the United States is scoring heavily across all of the holes, and making very few mistakes (which is excellent considering he is one of the very longest of hitters). To provide some background information, the seven time PGA Tour winner arrived this week in decent form off the back of a 5th and 12th place finish from his last two starts, although he has not secured a victory since the very first event of this year. It will be interesting to see if he can maintain the five shot margin as we progress over the weekend, with fellow Americans Watson and Weekly plus European stars such as McIlroy sitting ready to pounce. Things should get exciting.
