Hansen in Pole Position for HSBC World Match Play Qualification

Anders Hansen’s dramatic play-off victory over Justin Rose at last week’s BMW PGA Championship has put him in pole position to claim a place at the 2007 HSBC World Match Play Championship.

The leading two European Tour Members in the2007 HSBC European Tournaments Ranking – which accumulates the Official World Golf Ranking Points earned from the HSBC Champions, Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, Johnnie Walker Classic, BMW PGA Championship, BMW International Open, Open De France ALSTOM and the Smurfit  Kappa European Open – will qualify for the 16-man field competing over the West Course at Wentworth Club, Surrey, England from October 11-14, and the chance to play for the richest first prize in golf of £1,000,000.

Hansen’s BMW PGA Championship saw his leap to the top of the HSBC European Tournaments Ranking with 64.00 points, with England’s Paul Casey in second place on 59.40 points.
