Ian Poulter & Tyrrell Hatton try to make a hole-in-one with just 50 balls each
The chances of a European Tour pro making a hole-in-one on Tour are roughly 2,500/1. Armed with just 50 balls each, we challenged Tyrrell Hatton and Ian Poulter to defy the odds at the Renaissance Club in the first Hero Challenge of 2021.
Following on from the success of the live shows between 2016 and 2020, staged at iconic venues such as Edinburgh Castle in Scotland’s capital and the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, this week sees the launch of a new era of the Hero Challenge.
This year, there will be three different Hero Challenges from three locations across the European Tour calendar. Each will feature some of the best and brightest players in the world in a short-form social and digital video output, which will be supplemented by an in-depth ‘behind-the-scenes’ broadcast show from each event.
To kick off the Hero Challenges for 2021, we tasked two popular and decorated European Tour characters in Hatton and Poulter with a hole-in-one special.
Filmed on the 141-yard par three 14th hole at The Renaissance Club ahead of the abrdn Scottish Open, the second Rolex Series event on the 2021 Race to Dubai, could these two superstars battle their demons and find that one perfect shot?
Here’s what happened…
