History - Ballantine's Championship

Lee Westwood celebrated his second spell as the World’s number one golfer, having got there with a win the previous week in Indonesia, with yet another European Tour trophy at The Ballantine’s Championship. The win was his 35th professional victory worldwide and Korea, in turn, became the 19th different country he had won in at the time – one of five in the Far East (the others being Japan, China, Malaysia and Indonesia). He did it in some style too, going bogey free on Sunday, and making five birdies along the way, the last of which came at the par 5 18th, en route to edging out Ryder Cup compatriot Miguel Angel Jiménez by one.
