The SA Open Championship will return to Serengeti Golf Club in 2012, where last season Hennie Otto picked up the second – and biggest – win of his European Tour career so far, surviving a shaky back nine that saw him drop three shots coming in, before a birdie at the penultimate hole steadied the ship and saw him win by one from Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger. This event will also hold significance in 2012 as part of a penultimate double header that will see it and the Hong Kong Open act as the final chance for players to make the top 60 on the Race to Dubai and therefore qualify for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship the following week. This continues its significance as a big draw on the schedule, especially for the South African members, having been part of the Tour since 1997.
