Frenchman Thomas Levet took a victory dip in the lake at Le Golf National’s incredibly daunting 18th hole having edged out Mark Foster and Tour rookie Thorbjorn Olesen by a single stroke in front of his home galleries. However, his slightly over-exuberant celebrations would cost him a broken leg, as the potentially card wrecking last decided to get its own back on Levet who had managed to par it every single round that week. It was a pleasant return to form for the French fans who had not witnessed a home win here since Jean-Francois Remesy went back-to-back in 2004 and 2005.
