This event is one of the more well-travelled of the World Golf Championships having visited Spain, Ireland, England and America since its first staging in 1999, but has recently found a home in Doral Golf Resort and Spa, where it has been since 2007. Last year American Nick Watney picked up his first World Golf Championship title here with a two shot victory over compatriot Dustin Johnson. In fact this title has been won on eight of its 12 stagings by Americans, six of which coming from Tiger Woods, and the other from Phil Mickelson.
