Home favourite Joakim Lagergren delighted the local fans as he finished his second round with back to back birdies to grab a share of the lead early on day two of the Scandinavian Invitation.
The Swede mixed four birdies with three bogeys on Friday to sign for a battling 69 as the early starters found scoring tricky following persistent overnight rain and blustery morning conditions.
Lagergren sat alongside Australians Jason Scrivener and Wade Ormsby at the top of the leaderboard, with overnight leader Ormsby still to begin his second round.
Scrivener carded eight birdies - including three in a row from the fifth - and a solitary bogey in his stunning 63 to surge to eight under par.
South African Erik van Rooyen, Frenchman Victor Perez and Malaysia's Gavin Green were a shot behind the co-leaders in a tie for fourth after posting rounds of 68, 65 and 67 respectively.
Lagergren came into the day one shot off the lead but slipped back to six under after carding a bogey at the 11th - his second hole.
The 27-year-old closed his front nine with a birdie at the long 18th to return to seven under but dropped another shot at the par five third after finding the water.
He bounced straight back with a birdie from five feet on the fourth, which came courtesy of a brilliant approach shot.
Lagergren made his third bogey of the day at the seventh but closed his round with birdies on the eighth and ninth to climb to the summit.
After his round, Lagergren said: "It felt like it was playing a bit tougher today, definitely a bit longer with the early showers this morning so I'm pleased with one under today.
"With the conditions we had - the wind swirling around and the showers - I probably (would have taken that before the round) but you always want to perform better no matter what score you shoot.
"We're halfway through so just keep it together and hopefully I'm up there on Sunday."
Scrivener reached the turn in 33 after reeling off a hat-trick of birdies at the fifth, sixth and seventh holes.
Further birdies followed at the 12th and 13th before he dropped his only shot of the day at the 14th.
But he recovered admirably, making gains at three of his last four holes - the 15th, 17th and 18th - to join Lagergren and Ormsby at the top.
Speaking about his 63, Scrivener said: "I didn't really expect it, starting today. I just kind of plotted my way round and holed some really nice putts and it added up to 63 - so I'm really happy.
"To be honest I thought two under, at the start of the day, would have been a really good score but I guess that changed. I made three nice birdies on the front nine and just kind of kept on riding the wave. Yeah, I'm really happy with the round.
"I got a really hot putter. It's kind of been letting me down a little bit this year so it's nice to get hot with it and hole a few putts.
"Obviously it was fairly wet but I think the forecast is looking pretty good for the weekend. It's in great condition, the greens are really good and hopefully I can keep rolling those putts in."
