Fredrik Jacobson's victory at the Volvo Masters Andalucia moved him up 22 places to a career high of No.19 on this week’’s Official World Golf Ranking. Jacobson is now the third highest ranked European golfer and the highest ranked Swedish golfer in the world. Spain’’s Carlos Rodiles improved 56 spots following his runner-up finish and he breaks into the World Top-100 at No.97.
In the penultimate event of the 2003 PGA Tour schedule, Retief Goosen achieved his first win of the year as he won the Chrysler Championship in Florida. Goosen improves 2 spots on the World Ranking and is now World No.8.
Newly-crowned World No.2 Vijay Singh kept up his excellent run of form with a second-place finish and he is now 6.58 points behind World No.1 Tiger Woods and 1.3 points ahead of South Africa’’s Ernie Els at World No.3.
