With a stunning run of form, Jayden Schaper won the Opening Swing as he made it back-to-back titles on the DP World Tour at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
Across his three appearances in the first of five Global Swings on the 2026 Race to Dubai campaign, the South African won twice and finished runner-up.
Having finished in a tie for second at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player earlier this month, he won his maiden title on home soil a week later in a play-off against countryman Shaun Norris at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
He repeated the trick on Sunday as a chip-in eagle saw him defeat American Ryan Gerard at the year-ending event at Heritage La Réserve Golf Links in Mauritius.
His form comes on the back of consistent campaign last year on the DP World Tour in which he amassed nine top tens.
Already at the summit of the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World, his second consecutive victory secured him 500 points.
In doing so, it confirmed the 24-year-old as a dominant champion of the Opening Swing, finishing with 1,348 points.
As the winner of the global Swing, Schaper gains entry into the Hero Dubai Desert Classic - the first of five Rolex Series events - and all of the DP World Tour's Back 9 events, along with a US$200,000 bonus.
Schaper was one of three first-time winners to emerge during the Swing, with David Puig of Spain and Denmark’s Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen winning the BMW Australian PGA Championship and Crown Australian Open respectively over the opening two weeks of the new season.
