Jiménez breaks into World Top 50 after Algarve Open de Portugal Win

On the European Tour this week, Spain’’s Miguel Angel Jimenez climbed to the top of the Volvo Order of Merit and moved into the World Top-50 as he won the Algarve Open de Portugal at the Le Meridien Penina Golf Resort.

Miguel moves up 16 positions to World No.37 and he is now the sixth highest ranked European in the world after Harrington (7), Clarke (14), Jacobson (19), Bjorn (24) and Casey (28). Miguel also moves to the top of the Ryder Cup European Points List with 1,027,946 points.

European Tour member Padraig Harrington carried over his good form ahead of the US Masters, he finished second last week at The Players Championship, to finish fourth at the BellSouth Classic at the TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia. The Irishman moved up one place to seventh in the overall World Rankings.
