Michael Jonzon was on course to win his first European Tour title for 12 years after establishing a three shot lead with nine to play at the CASTELLÓ MASTERS Costa Azahar.
The 37 year old Swede was five under for his final round front nine at Club de Campo del Mediterráneo and had reached 21 under to leave playing partners Martin Kaymer and defending champion Sergio Garcia with ground to make up.
Germany’s Kaymer - needing a win to return to the top of The Race to Dubai standings - posted three birdies in an outward 33 to move to 18 under.
Garcia was four back despite birdieing the first two holes on his home course as he looks to mount a first successful title defence in his career.
