Well known golf journalist, Keith Duckworth, has died suddenly at his home in Ulverston in the north of England. He was 68. Originally from Bury, Keith and his wife, Dai, and daughters, Pamela and Helen, moved to Cumbria in the 1970s where he ran a newsagent’s business.
He became interested in photographing local golf in the Lake District and graduated to reporting tournaments. A keen golfer and a member of the Cumbria County Executive, Keith worked extensively on The European Tour and the US PGA Tour and made many friends on both continents. He was also part of the Media Centre operation at The Open Championship in recent years.
