Four-time former champion Bernhard Langer and his in-form German compatriot Martin Kaymer will both be aiming for a win on home soil when they head a strong field at the Mercedes-Benz Championship next month.

Langer, winner in 1989, 1991, 1997 and 2001, and Kaymer, who claimed back to back European Tour titles last month at the Open de France ALSTOM and The Barclays Scottish Open, will be joined by their countryman Alex Cejka at the Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof in Cologne from September 10-13.

The field also features Englishmen Ross Fisher and Lee Westwood, Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie, who won the event in 1998, and Spaniard Miguel Angel Jiménez.

Soren Hansen, the 2007 winner at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof,  has confirmed his participation, as has Darren Clarke, champion in 1996 at Berliner Golf Club.

Frenchman Thomas Levet, South African Richard Sterne and Asian Tour star Thongchai Jaidee, all of whom have won on The European Tour this season, will also competing for the title on the 7,289-yard Jack Nicklaus-designed course.
