Entry for the Open de France ALSTOM qualifying is now open, giving golfers the chance to repeat the heroics of last year’s winner Pablo Larrazabal.
A week after coming through the two-day qualifying event in Chantilly, the Spaniard held off the challenge of the likes of European Tour champions Colin Montgomerie of Scotland and Denmark’s Søren Hansen to cruise to a four-shot victory and so collect his first winner’s cheque for €666,660.
In 2007 another qualifier, James Kamte of South Africa, also topped the leaderboard on day one after shooting a six under par 65 at Le Golf National in Paris, France.
This year the qualifying tournament will be held from June 22-23, when the top ten will again get the chance to play at the Open de France Alstom from July 2-5.
Open to a maximum of 300 candidates, the qualifying tournaments will be held at Chantilly Golf for half of the field, whilst the other half will play at the nearby Lys Golf Club.
The closing date for entries is May 18, 2009. Competition regulations and information on how to enter the qualifying tournaments is availablehere.
