Portugal’s José Filipe Lima leads the Mauritius Open after a second round of four under par 68 ensured a one stroke advantage over England’s Peter Baker and Welshman Jamie Donaldson.
Lima is seven under par at the Belle Mare Plage Legend course in the special event that features a Seniors and Ladies competition as well as the main event that Lima is leading.
Lima could have been trailing Donaldson were it not for a dramatic, where the Welshman twice found the water.
Baker, who, along with Donaldson, won back his European Tour card for the 2008 season via the Challenge Tour, followed up his opening round 67 with a one under-par 71 but was unhappy with his putting.
Last year's runner-up, Welshman Phil Price, is also a contender despite a disappointing level par 72 which put him two strokes off the lead.
