Louis Martin, who held the position of Chief Executive on the Southern Africa Tour from 1998 to earlier this year, has been appointed Director of International Services to The European Tour.
Martin, whose association with golf has stretched over three decades, was previously involved with The European Tour in organising in 1995 the inaugural co-sanctioned event - The Lexington South African PGA Championship - with the Southern Africa Tour.
Ken Schofield, Executive Director of The European Tour, said: "Louis has earned enormous respect in our sport, and in particular as a superb administrator with the Southern Africa Tour. We very much welcome Louis to The European Tour in the knowledge that his unique skills will further augment those of the management team at Wentworth Headquarters."
Martin said: "I'm delighted and honoured to be joining The European Tour. Ken Schofield and his team at Wentworth have built an enormous reputation worldwide, and I look forward to contributing to the Tour's growth in future years.
"This is a new challenge for me and one that I relish. My one desire was to continue to work in golf, and to receive this opportunity at this level of the game is fantastic."
