Robert MacIntyre has been voted the European Tour’s Golfer of the Month

Golfer of the Month - November

Robert MacIntyre claimed the November award with 48% of the vote after winning his maiden European Tour title at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown. In an innovative new format, MacIntyre came through the two separate cut marks before shooting a final round seven under par 64 to win by a single stroke. The 2019 Rookie of the Year and fan favourite, commonly known as Bob, finally picked up his long overdue win after three second place finishes last year.

South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout finished second in the voting after winning his second European Tour title in his home nation at the iconic Alfred Dunhill Championship. The highest ranked player in the field that week showed his class with a four-stroke victory at the iconic Leopard Creek Country Club, which was the first of two back-to-back victories in the South African Swing.

Joachim B. Hansen came third following his first European Tour win at the Joburg Open, which helped him secure his spot in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. The Dane fired a bogey-free 67 during a dramatic final round that saw him edge out 54-hole leader Wilco Nienaber to win by two shots in Johannesburg.

Rounding off the voting was Englishman Callum Shinkwin, who prevailed for his first European Tour victory at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open. Shinkwin had come agonisingly close to tasting victory at the 2016 Scottish Open, but the Englishman finally entered the winner’s circle after he set the clubhouse target with an eagle on the 72nd hole, before going on to win in a playoff against Finland’s Kalle Samooja.
