Madeira Island Open moves to new April date

The Madeira Island Open, which this year celebrates its 13th consecutive staging on The European Tour International Schedule, has been moved to a new date and will now be staged from April 7-10, 2005.

Previously the tournament, which amongst its list of winners includes former Ryder Cup players Niclas Fasth, Mark James and Jarmo Sandelin and which was won last year by Sweden's Christopher Hanell, had originally been scheduled from March 17-20, 2005, but has been moved to accommodate a new tournament to the schedule which will be announced in due course.
