Colin Montgomerie has accepted a late invitation to compete in this week’’s Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters at the Marriott Forest of Arden.
The 40 year old Scot will be looking to repeat his 1998 British Masters triumph when he held off the challenge from 2002 Ryder Cup team-mate Pierre Fulke over the Arden Course.
Chubby Chandler, founder and Managing Director of event organisers ISM commented: "Obviously we are delighted that Colin will be playing at The Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters. In fact we had specifically held an invite open just in case we a had a good player looking to find form by playing at this event."
Montgomerie will once again be up against Fulke, as well as other Ryder Cup players Thomas Björn, Darren Clarke, Paul McGinley, Phillip Price and Lee Westwood in addition to the defending champion Justin Rose and last week’’s winner of The Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open, Ian Poulter.
