Nissan Ireland today confirmed that it will continue its sponsorship of the Irish Open Golf Championship in 2006. This will be Nissan’’s fourth year as title sponsor and Executive Chairman of Nissan Ireland, Gerard O’’Toole, also confirmed that the event will return to the magnificent Carton House Golf Club next year in the same prime date on the international golfing schedule, May 18-21, 2006.
Welcoming the announcement, Gerard O’’Toole, Executive Chairman, Nissan Ireland said: “I am genuinely delighted that we are continuing our sponsorship of this truly outstanding tournament. This year’’s event has proven that the Nissan Irish Open can attract top international players and we look forward to working with The European Tour to build on this momentum.
“I am also delighted that next year’’s event will return to the Montgomerie Course at Carton House and I’’d like to take this opportunity to applaud the Mallaghan family for their dedication in delivering a course of the calibre experienced this week.”
