Olesen makes fast start on day three

Thorbjørn Olesen moved into contention early on day three of the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai after carding an eagle and two birdies in his first seven holes.

The Dane began the day six shots off the lead but holed his tricky eagle putt from 30 feet at the second to make the perfect start to a third round which was delayed by 50 minutes due to fog.

Olesen then made gains at the third and seventh to get to seven under and move within two shots of halfway leaders Sergio Garcia and Francesco Molinari.

Rory McIlroy, who sits fourth in the Race to Dubai rankings presented by Rolex, climbed to five under after firing birdies at the second, seventh, ninth and tenth holes on Saturday.

Race to Dubai leader Henrik Stenson, meanwhile, slipped to one under par after carding bogeys at the fourth and sixth holes.

South African Branden Grace set the clubhouse target on five under after carding eight birdies and a single bogey in his third-round 65.
