On the tee: at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will once again showcase some of golf’s most decorated players alongside icons from the worlds of sport and entertainment at the Home of Golf.

Fresh from making his Ryder Cup debut,Matt Fitzpatrickwill tee it up alongside former Barcelona and Real Madrid playmaker Luis Figo at 11.23 on the tenth tee at Carnoustie, traditionally the toughest of the three layouts which will host the US$5 million event.

The two-time European Tour winner made his tournament debut last year, and returns to play in the company of Portuguese star Figo, who will be making his third appearance.

Former championsMartin Kaymer(2010) andBranden Grace(2012) will again be partnered by their fathers, Horst and Peter respectively.

Kaymer, who won his third straight title at this tournament six years ago, will tee off at 09.55 from the tenth at Carnoustie, with Grace starting 11 minutes later.

Thomas Pieterswill also be in action in Scotland this week and begins at Carnoustie with businessman Johann Rupert at 10.06.

, the winner at St Andrews in 2013, will partner long-time friend and actor Hugh Grant, starting at 09.00 at Carnoustie.

andOliver Fisherwill play alongside former England cricket captains Sir Ian Botham and Michael Vaughan respectively at 11.23 on the Old Course.

Returning for his 12th appearance isGraeme McDowell, who will be joined at Carnoustie on Thursday at 09.22 by legendary jump racing jockey Sir Anthony McCoy, better known as AP.

While Masters championDanny Willett’s caddie Jonathan Smart will partner the five-time European Tour winner starting at Carnoustie from 11.12, defending championThorbjørn Olesenwill play with telecommunications executive David Dorman at 09.44.
