On the tee at the Australian PGA Championship

Defending champion Nathan Holman will tee off alongside Ian Poulter as the 2017 Race to Dubai kicks off at the Australian PGA Championship on Thursday.

The home favourite won his maiden title in just his 16th European Tour start last season and after finishing an impressive 67th on the Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex, he will be looking to get the new campaign off to the perfect start.

England's Poulter is making his eagerly-awaited return to European Tour action after five months out in the summer due to a long-standing foot issue and makes his first appearance since the Masters Tournament.

HolmanandPoulterget their campaigns under way alongside another home favourite inRod Pamplingat 11.15.

Holman needed a play-off to win the title last season and one of the men he beat in that play-off,Harold Varner III, tees off ten minutes later alongside home duoScott HendandMarcus Fraser.

Hend and Fraser were team-mates for Australia at the Olympic Men's Golf Competition in the summer and the duo - who were both winners on the European Tour last season - are sure to attract a big following.

Former World Number OneAdam Scottwill be another big draw for the home fans this week and he goes off the tenth tee at 06.10 alongsideGreg Chalmersand amateurCurtis Luck.

The last time Scott and Chalmers played together at RACV Royal Pines Resort was in a play-off in 2014 as they tackled the 18th seven times before Chalmers eventually emerged victorious.
