On the tee: at the Masters

The 2017 Race to Dubai ChampionTommy Fleetwoodhas been handed a dream draw for the opening two rounds of the 2018 Masters Tournament after being grouped with the resurgentTiger Woods, while Grand Slam-chasingRory McIlroywill play alongsideAdam ScottandJon Rahm.

Woods’ comeback has captured the imagination of the sporting world and all eyes will be on the 42 year old American when he tees off at 10:42am Eastern Time on Thursday in search of a fifth Green Jacket, joined on the first tee by English star Fleetwood and AustralianMarc Leishman.

McIlroy, meanwhile, has been paired alongside Rahm, the man who won the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open which the Northern Irishman himself hosted last year along with his charitable foundation. The two European Tour stars are joined in the opening two rounds by the 2013 Masters Champion Scott.

Defending ChampionSergio Garciawill be joined by World Number TwoJustin Thomasand the 2017 US Amateur ChampionDoc Redmanwhen the Spaniard tees it up at 10:53am.

Last year’s runner-upJustin Rose, defeated in a play-off by his four-time Ryder Cup team-mate Garcia, will play alongside World Number OneDustin Johnsonin the final group of the opening day and they will be joined by Spain’sRafa Cabrera Bello.

Henrik Stenson, targeting a second Major Championship title this week at Augusta National, will no doubt have throngs of fans following his group, which also features the in-form two-time Masters ChampionBubba Watsonand the 2015 US PGA Champion and former World Number OneJason Day.

Stenson’s Swedish compatriot and World Number 15Alex Norenis in the penultimate group on Day One alongside the 2015 Masters ChampionJordan Spiethand South Africa’sLouis Oosthuizen.
