The Championship Committee of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews have provided exemptions from Regional and Final Qualifying for the 131st Open Golf Championship at The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Muirfield, July 18-21 to the first seven and anyone tying for seventh place, who are not otherwise exempt, in the top 25 of a cumulative money list taken from all European Tour events from the Volvo PGA Championship up to and including The Barclays Scottish Open.
Barry Lane, Malcolm Mackenzie, Greg Owen, Carl Pettersson and Eduardo Romero have gained exemption from their current positions as the top five within the current top 20 on the Volvo Order of Merit, not otherwise exempt.
