Open de Madrid Returns to Club de Campo in October

The 31st edition of the Open de Madrid will be staged at Club de Campo in the Spanish capital city from October 13-16, 2005. The prize fund will be €1,000,000 with the winner receiving €166,660.

Club de Campo will host the tournament for the fifth successive year. The previous winners there have been Retief Goosen of South African (2001), Denmark’’s Steen Tinning (2002), Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina (2003) and another South African, Richard Sterne, who won his first European Tour title in 2004.

The confirmation of the date and venue completes a superb month of European Tour Order of Merit tournaments in Spain with the Abama Open de Canarias (October 6-9), Open de Madrid (13-16), Mallorca Classic (20-23) and the season-ending Volvo Masters (27-30).
