A flawless first round of 63 saw Matt Wallace top the leaderboard when play was suspended due to thunder and lightning on day one of the Open de Portugal at Morgado Golf Resort.
Here, we take a look at what some of the players who were able to finish their opening rounds on Thursday had to say.
Ricardo Gouveia (72, -1)
"The end was not what I expected. In the first nine holes I feel like I was playing well, but there were bad shots in the second nine holes, maybe the result of a lack of concentration, and those shots cost me a little bit. And then I could not birdie the last hole. But I'm confident and for tomorrow we have to play the same way, with fewer errors, and the results will appear."
Paul Lawrie (72, -1)
"I would say that it was solid but unspectacular today. I played nicely but I just didn’t hole many putts on the greens and I made a couple of mistakes, which didn’t help. But I’ve not played a lot of golf recently, so all in all it wasn’t too bad. It was quite windy out there, I thought the conditions were quite difficult but the scoring seems, well, ten under par from Matt Wallace this morning is incredible."
Play is set to resume at 8.30am on Friday.
