Opportunity to Play Irish Open Pro-Am Still Available

The Irish Open at Adare Manor has announced that it will be extending the closing date for entries for the Irish Open Pro-Am qualifier until Tuesday, March 20th.  The new format has been very well received among amateur golfers and it is hoped that extending the closing date will allow the organisers to raise even more money for the nominated charities that are benefiting from the event.

The new concept has been designed to give amateur golfers across Ireland a-once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to tee up alongside some of the world’s leading players on the eve of the Irish Open itself. Entry forms are still available from club secretaries for the minimal cost of €2, with all the proceeds going to the charity.

The new format will see four teams from clubs across the country win the right to play alongside the pros in the Irish Open Pro-Am. Each team will comprise one male, one female and one junior and every GUI and ILGU affiliated club is invited to put one team forward. However, to ensure all standards are catered for, all club members can throw their hat in the ring and the make up of each club’s team will be the result of an independent draw conducted by the Irish Open Tournament Committee.

The Irish Open Golf Championship will take place from May 17th - 20th in the luxurious five-star Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort in Adare, Co Limerick.  Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr, the par 72 Championship course has previously played host to the J P McManus Invitational Pro-Am, the AIB Irish Seniors Open and the Women’s World Cup of Golf.
