And while 500 will be the number on everybody's lips, within that there are a host of others that show just what a remarkable career the Irishman has had.

Here, we take a look at a few of them.

500

The big one. From his very first at the 1995 Smurfit European Open to this week in Qatar via 498 others, Harrington makes his 500th DP World Tour appearance. Between his rookie season in 1996 and the season he became eligible for seniors golf in 2021, he played at least ten events every season barring the Covid-affected campaign of 2020. Of the 2,087 DP World Tour events ever played after this week, he will have teed it up in 23.96% of them.

With 15, Harrington has more wins playing under the Irish flag than any player in DP World Tour history. His first win came at the 1996 Spanish Open and his latest 20 years later at the Portugal Masters.

Harrington's three Major Championship victories in 13 months kickstarted a golden era for European players in golf's four biggest events. His win at the 2007 Open was the first Major victory by a European since Paul Lawrie at the 1999 Open. His successful defence 12 months later was the first by a European since 1906 and the following month he became the first European US PGA Championship winner in over 75 years.

Three is also Harrington's highest position on the Official World Golf Ranking and the number of Senior Major titles he has won.

30

The Amgen Irish Open has seen Harrington tee it up every season since 1996, never missing an edition for which he was eligible and playing 30 in a row. He won it in 2007 and has also been a three-time runner-up.

129

His 129 top ten finishes include those 15 wins, 27 runner-up finishes and 11 thirds. He once again tops this list for an Irish player and is 13th all-time.

28,479,335.86

The amount of prize money in euros earned by Harrington across his career. That puts him top of the list for Irish players and 12th on the all-time chart.
