Algarve Open de Portugal champion Carl Pettersson finished runner-up to Tiger Woods in the Buick Invitational after a final round of 69 left him four strokes behind the World Number One.
Pettersson was making only his sixth appearance on the US PGA Tour after earning his card through the US PGA Tour Qualifying School last December. Rounds of 69-68-70-69 for a total of 276 earned him $486,000.
Woods, playing his first tournament since undergoing knee surgery on December 12th, closed with a round of 68 at Torrey Pines to secure a commanding victory.
England’s Luke Donald enjoyed an impressive week, finishing tied seventh after rounds of 69-70-71-69 for a total of 279.
