Pieters biggest mover in Re-Rank

Thomas Pieters made the biggest gains from the category 15 re-rank, which took place at the conclusion of the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity, as the young Belgian moved from rank 20 to rank 2 after making a flying start to his European Tour career.

Category 15 is comprised of those players that earned their European Tour cards through Qualifying School Final Stage and midway through the season they are re-ranked in accordance with their performances in the first six months of the year.

Fabrizio Zanotti was the best performer of the lot, having picked up his biggest cheque of the year just last week in Austria, also finishing tied third at the Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI.

The Paraguayan will remain as the top rank in the category for the remainder of the season, while Pieters is second – climbing from 20^thposition originally – after the 22 year old announced his name on the European Tour scene by earning a place in a three-way play-off at the Open de España, before losing out to Miguel Angel Jiménez.

Qualifying School Final Stage winner Carlos Del Moral fell from first to third in the re-rank while Dane Lucas Bjerregaard moved from 21^stto seventh after an impressively consistent to his European Tour career, making the cut in all of the first nine events of his rookie season.
