Places for Doral up for grabs in Dubai

As an added incentive in this week’s DP World Tour Championship, the top 20 players in The Race to Dubai on conclusion of the season finale will qualify for the WGC-Cadillac Championship, which sees the world’s best players return to Trump National Doral from March 4-8, 2015.

Players who have not already qualified for the first WGC event of the 2015 season by dint of finishing in the top 30 of the final 2014 FedExCup standings include Henrik Stenson (currently second in The Race to Dubai), Jamie Donaldson (third), Marcel Siem (fourth), Brooks Koepka (sixth), Alexander Levy (seventh), Thomas Bjørn (ninth), Victor Dubuisson (tenth), Graeme McDowell (11th), Ian Poulter (13th), Joost Luiten (14th) and Stephen Gallacher (15th).

Koepka made a statement of intent last week by winning the Turkish Airlines Open, the penultimate event in The Race to Dubai, by one shot from Poulter. This will be Koepka’s first start at the Cadillac Championship, and indeed his first start in a World Golf Championships event.

Stenson, winner of the 2013 FedExCup, is yet to win a tournament on wither The European or US PGA Tours this season, but his solid play throughout the year, including a runner-up finish at the Volvo World Match Play Championship in October, has moved him into second place in The Race to Dubai entering the last event.

He was also a member of Europe’s successful Ryder Cup team which defeated the Americans at the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire. Stenson has played in the Cadillac Championship seven times in his career, with his best finish coming in 2005, when he tied for third.

A host of other European Ryder Cup stars look almost certain to join Stenson in Miami, with Donaldson, Bjørn, Dubuisson, McDowell, Poulter and Gallacher also in the top 20 heading into the season finale.

Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose and Martin Kaymer, but Lee Westwood will need a strong finish this week if he is to climb into the top 20 from his current position of 25th, and so complete a clean sweep of Europe’s Ryder Cup team.

The 2014 Cadillac Championship week included a post-competition fashion show featuring world-renowned designer Carolina Herrera and host Ivanka Trump. Additionally, before and after the fashion show, fans were entertained with music by DJ Irie of the Miami Heat. The next day, Gym Class Heroes’ frontman and solo star Travie McCoy headlined a concert following the completion of the tournament’s third round.

Fans can expect even bigger entertainment options at the 2015 event and added perks on tickets for a limited time.

There are two special holiday ticket offers this year for the Cadillac Championship. A clubhouse ticket package will be available for $179 and includes two tickets coupled with the signature golf towel, altogether more than $216 in value. The Trump National Doral Clubhouse was recently renovated along with the $2 billion in resort renovations. Clubhouse ticketholders will get access to enhanced amenities, shops and dining within the Trump Clubhouse, as well as the Grey Goose Lounge, an upgraded venue on hole nine with premium spirits and food options.

Also, for only $99, fans can enjoy access to the tournament grounds and choose which day they wish to come with the Good-Any-One-Day option. New this year, and exclusive to the holidays, a commemorative Blue Monster golf towel will be included that gives fans the chance to place a wrapped gift under the tree this season. Both holiday offers are available from November 1, 2014 to January 5, 2015 via Ticketmaster and the official websitehere. Fans can receive their tickets by December 24 if purchased by December 15.
