Poulter on the verge of a place in World Ranking top 50

The European Tour was at Simon's Golf Club in Copenhagen for the inaugural Nordic Open this week where Englishman Ian Poulter fired a final round 66 for a 22-under par total and his second European Tour victory of the 2003 season. Ian improves his World Ranking position by 23 spots and is now just outside the World Top-50 at No.53 - the highest position of his career.

On the US PGA Tour, Davis Love III collected his fourth victory of the year as he led from start to finish to win The INTERNATIONAL at Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colorado. Davis moves up 3 positions to No.3 on this week's Official World Golf Ranking and moves past Tiger Woods to the top of the US PGA TOUR Money List with $5,122,038 from 15 events. Vijay Singh and Retief Goosen were the joint runners-up; Vijay moves down one spot to World No.4 while Retief Goosen remains at World No.12.

On the Japan Golf Tour, Australian Brendan Jones shot 71,73,68,68 to win the Sun-Chlorella Classic at the Sapporo Bay Golf Club in Hokkaido. Brendan moves up 42 positions to World No.123 and up to fifth on the Japan Golf Tour Money List with Y46,529, 561.

In the week's other tournaments, Bo Van Pelt won the Omaha Classic at The Champions Club in Omaha, Nebraska. Bo is now No.447 in the world.
