Anyone who witnessed Richard Finch holing some crucial putts in the final round on his way to victory in the Michael Hill New Zealand Open might assume it was his performance on the greens at The Hills Golf Club which was the cornerstone of the Englishman's maiden European Tour victory.
However a glance at the Genworth Financial Statistics for the week point in another direction. Certainly Finch holed some important putts but it was the shots before he got to the putting surfaces which were crucial as the 30 year topped the Greens in Regulation Category with an impressive 83.3 per cent tally for the final day and 85.2 per cent for round three.
