Australian Terry Price maintained his position at the top of Category 11 after Re-Rank 2 having earned an impressive €318,542 so far this season to lie 49th in the Volvo Order of Merit.
Price's second place finish in the Algarve Open de Portugal Caixa Geral de Depositos is his best finish so far this season.
Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa occupies second place, climbing one place since the lasr re-rank, having started the season in 34th place in Category 11 following lkast November's Qualifying School Finals.
Oosthuizen lies in 45th place in the Volvo Order of Merit, one place ahead of Scotland's Steven o'Hara who has advanced from 16th to third since Re-Rank 1, his joint third place finish in the Diageo Championship at Gleneagles being his best return over the period.
Jean-Francois Lucquin of France also made significant strides, coming strong in the middle part of the season with two top ten finishes to climb 20 places from 29th to ninth.
At two points during the season, players in Category 11 of The European Tour are re-ranked as follows:
i) As at May 3, the top 20 official money winners from within Category 11 on the 2004 Volvo Order of Merit were ranked 1-20 in money order in Category 11 and the remainder followed on in the order established at the Qualifying School. The first tournament entry deadline to be affected was The Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters.
ii) As at August 2, all players in Category 11 were re-ranked in order of official money won on the 2004 Volvo Order of Merit. The first tournament entry deadline to be affected will be The KLM Open.
