The two qualifying events to finalise the field for the Omega Mission Hills World Cup take place in South America and Asia respectively this week from September 27-30.
While the leading 18 nations for the contest, which will be staged over the Olazábal Course at Mission Hills Golf Club in China from November 22-25, have automatically qualified, there are still ten more berths to be filled.
The South American tournament – The Omega Mission Hills World Cup Aruba Qualifier – will be sponsored by Omega and is taking place at the Tierra del Sol Golf Club in Aruba, Dutch Caribbean, while the Asian equivalent – the Fortis International Challenge – will be held at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur, Maylaysia.
The leading five nations from each qualifier will progress to the Omega Mission Hills World Cup, which features a first prize of US$1,650,000 from a total prize fund of US$5,000,000 and will launch a new and exciting era in the history of the event first played in 1953 as the Canada Cup.
