Rasmus Højgaard has been named Golfer of the Month for August after winning his third European Tour title at the iconic OMEGA European Masters in the Swiss Alps.

The 20-year-old was the only player born in the 2000s to have won on either the European Tour or PGA Tour before his twin brother, Nicolai, made history by winning the following week at the DS Automobiles Italian Open.

Rasmus Højgaard carded a bogey-free final round of 63 to win by a single shot over Austria's Bernd Wiesberger and his win in Switzerland vaulted him into the top 30 of the Race to Dubai Rankings.

Scotland's Calum Hill came second in the voting after winning his first European Tour title at the Cazoo Classic hosted at London Golf Club in England. The Scot shot four under par rounds to win by a shot over Alexander Levy in what was a hard fought Sunday where he was pushed all the way to the final hole.

Johannes Veerman came third, again winning his first Tour Title at the D&D REAL Czech Masters at Albatross Golf Resort in Prague. The American held off strong challenges from several players on what was a rollercoaster of a final day.

Rounding off the voting was Scotland's Grant Forrest, who became the third first time winner last month. The Scot won in his home country at Fairmont St Andrews after finishing with back-to-back birdies to win by a shot at the Hero Open.
