James Kingston’s unerring accuracy, whether with his woods or irons in his hands, was the key to the South African’s success at last week’s Mercedes-Benz Championship.
According to the Genworth Financial Statistics Kingston topped the Greens in Regulation category with a mightily impressive average of 84.7 per cent, whilst his closer challenger Anders Hansen of Denmark, who he beat in the play-off at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof, could only finish 18th in the same category with an average of 72.2 per cent.
Kingston’s precision off the tee was equally impressive, as he came fifth in the Driving Accuracy category with 71.4 per cent of fairways found across the four days in Cologne.
Finally, a 100 per cent record in the Sand Saves category also contributed to Kingston claiming his second European Tour title.
