Remesy King of the Greens

The foundations of Jean-Francois Remesy’’s stunning seven stroke victory in the Open de France at the weekend were built upon a sensational week on and around the greens, the Reuters Statistics reveal.

Remesy led the putts per round category by some margin, his average of 26.8 putts per round equating to more than nine single putts per round. Jonathan Lomas of England was his closest challenger in this category, averaging 27.5 putts per round which helped him to a joint fourth place finish.

The Frenchman was also highly placed in the Reuters Putts per Green in Regulation C

category, with 1.643 putts per GIR which ranked him fourth in the field, with Lomas topping this category.

His good work extended to the areas around the greens as he scrambled and up and down on 74% of the holes where he missed the green.

Nick O’’Hern proved that accuracy was essential at Le Golf National, finishing third in the Driving Accuracy section with 75% of fairways hit.
