Retief Goosen Climbs Two Places to World Number Seven in Official World Golf Ranking

Retief Goosen’’s sensational victory in the 104th US Open Championship after a tense battle with the reigning Masters Champion Phil Mickelson of America in difficult conditions at Shinnecock Hills lifted the South African two places to World Number Seven while Mickelson climbs a spot to World Number Number Four behind Tiger Woods, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh.

Philippe Lima of France won for a second successive week as he captured the Aa St Omer Open, a European Tour and Challenge Tour dual ranking tournament, with a sensational final round 66. Victory lifted Lima to Number 252 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Dinesh Chand of Fiji enjoyed a four stroke victory in the Mandom Lucido Yomiuri Open on the Japan Golf Tour and jumped 123 places to World Number 230.

D.A. Points defeated James Driscoll in a sudden-death play-off to win the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic on the Nationwide Tour and is now World Number 440.
