Robert Karlsson Breaks into World Top 50 with win at The Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe

Robert Karlsson won the Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe at Gut Kaden in Hamburg with a final round of 67, giving him a four stroke victory over Charl Schwartzel and Lee Westwood. With his second European Tour win in two months Karlsson has moved to World Number 50, a jump of 38 places on the week and 166 places since the start of 2006.

Corey Pavin won the US Bank Championship in Milwaukee by two strokes from Jerry Kelly after a closing round of 67. Pavin improves his Official World Golf Ranking by 71 places and is now occupying 91st position.

Toru Taniguchi defeated Hur Suk-ho and Tomohiro Kondo in a play-off for The Golf Tournament in Omaezaki on the Japan Golf Tour. Taniguchi climbs 21 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 118th.

This week’s other winners were Kevin Johnson at the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open on the Nationwide Tour and Sion E Bebb at the Ryder Cup Wales Challenge on the European Challenge Tour.
